Geocomposite

single sided gecomposite drainage media landfills

Single-Sided

Geocomposite

The single-sided geocomposite is composed of a geonet core and a laminated nonwoven geotextile on one of it's side. Typically, the textile faces down against the soil to prevent the fines from clogging the geonet.

Single-sided Geocomposite

Product Description

Similar to geonet, geocomposites provide a controlled/ engineered drainage median for applications requiring water or gas mitigation. The geocomposite is composed of a geonet core and a one-sided laminated nonwoven geotextile. The geotextile facing-side is typically installed against the subgrade to prevent soil fines from clogging the geonet.

The design engineer should prioritize the filtration properties of the geotextile when specifying a geocomposite. The 3 most important design parameters are: filtration, compressive strength, and hydraulic transmissivity.

Features

  • Saves money, time, and reduces carbon footprint by replacing a foot of gravel.

  • Ideal for drainage on slope by minimizing erosion impacts.

  • Durable product with high compressive strength resistance.

  • Reinforcement properties stabilizing soils and improving subgrades.

Applications

  • Drainage, separation, filtration, and reinforcement for roadways, landfills, railway, embankments, and structural foundations.

  • Leak detection for liner system, and protection against sub-standard subgrade.

  • Gas venting for ponds and landfill systems.

Double-Sided Geocomposite

Product Description

Similar to geonet, geocomposites provide a controlled/ engineered drainage median for applications requiring water or gas mitigation. The double-sided geocomposite is composed of a geonet core with nonwoven geotextile laminated on both sides. This allows for filtration to occur on both sides of the material, increase the friction angle on sloped applications, and even provide a safe walking surface during installation.

  • Filtration of fines top and bottom.

  • Transfer loads with consistent or higher friction angles.

  • Provide a safer walking surface during installation.

  • Help with subgrade imperfections by providing reinforcement and protection.

Applications

  • Drainage, separation, filtration, and reinforcement for roadways, landfills, railway, embankments, and structural foundations.

  • Leak detection for liner system, and protection against sub-standard subgrade.

  • Gas venting for ponds and landfill systems.
